Man, your writing is excellent but you make the food sound so delicious it draws my attention away from the story! I think that means you’ve nailed it, because as much as I like to eat, food writing doesn’t usually grab me this much.

Thanks Karl. This newsletter is really the first time I've shared my writing with anyone other than my nearest and dearest so your kind words mean a lot to me. I still feel like I'm working through the best way of putting this "memoir" story together but having people like you read it really gives me the boost to keep on going! Thanks.

For what it’s worth-- I’m not a fan of “memoir” type writing. But some people do it well, and that’s a boon for all of us. I’ll keep reading, because I think you are one of the people doing it well! (Lauren Hough is also very good, if you haven’t checked her out.)

As someone who has never cooked in a professional kitchen, I find your stories eye-opening, entertaining, fascinating...all of the above. I'm sure I'd never be able to handle the pressure.
