Love your writing Will. Ps it’s been snowing in Upstate NY since October. ⛄️

Thanks, Julie. Yeah we had a very snow-light winter on the 2025 side. This year it's been pretty full on though.

If my child were enrolled at that school, I would have sent them off with a parcel of 100 little very angry notes.

P.S. I think your son has remarkable taste.

Luckily he takes after his mother.

Delightful read with first of today’s many strong coffees. I feel for your Finnish learning. I would cry. I tried to learn Japanese and watched a lesson where the teachers argued with each other about which phrase was correct and made peace with my lack.

Wow. This makes me think more than one teacher is a case of too many cooks. But fret not, I think I'm doing pretty bloody well really. I have a long way to go but it would have been very easy not to have started at all.

Sam seems like an old soul. I hope he gets plenty of distinguished old gents, including maybe Karl Marx and Abe Lincoln.

Actually, I have an update since scheduling this. He has decided on a poster of Charles Darwin. Very good taste.

Excellent choice! Sam with his clear opinions reminds me of a boy in my house 😊.

As long as he selects someone who's a "disruptor" - Darwin certainly has achieved that status!

Love the framing of parenting as an endless stream of side quests. That bit about green lentils vs elaborate toy collections really nails something - there's this unspoken pressure to optimize everything when sometimes you just need to solve the immedate problem and move on. The 100 Days exhibiton thing sounds wild tho, is that common in Finnish pre-schools?
