One of my favourite parts of working in restaurants is how much teaching and learning happens in them every day. In the best kitchens, it’s a casual and generous sharing of knowledge, never from a place of “I know better than you.”
That same spirit is what I’ve tried to bring to The Recovering Line Cook. And honestly, some of my favourite moments writing this newsletter have been your messages telling me you tried a recipe and loved it. Even though I’m cooking alone, it feels like we’re still in a kind of shared kitchen.
So I’ve been thinking I want to push that further.
I’m launching 1-on-1 live online cooking classes.
You and me, on a video call, cooking for an hour and a half in real time.
We can treat it as a structured lesson, or just a chance to cook together during which I can share techniques and tips along the way. Whether you’re nervous about fish, curious about a dish I’ve shared in the newsletter, or just want to build confidence in the kitchen, I’d love to help.

We’ll start with a free 15-minute chat to decide what kind of food excites you, then I’ll plan a session around it.
